As a lot of you have probably already heard, Natura, the company that makes California Natural, Evo, Innova and Healthwise, has been bought by Proctor & Gamble.
You asked for it, and we got it. Orijen cat and dog food is now on the shelves of For Paws. This highly requested food is grain free and made from healthy, natural ingredients in Canada. Read more about the food here or come on by and check it out!
Just a quick note to let our customers know that Nature’s Variety is instituting a voluntary recall for all of their raw chicken diets. This affects bags with a “Best If Used By” date on or before 2/5/11 .

It’s that time again! Time to get your art appreciation on. The SE Area Art Walk is upon us. It’s going down Saturday 3/6 and Sunday 3/7 from 10-5 all over the southeast.
For Paws is excited to be displaying art by The Likely Badger .
Also joining us will be our friends from local dog treat company Stam’s who will be handing out samples of their tasty grain free treats. They’ll be in the shop on Saturday afternoon. Then on Sunday we’ll be joined by Natura, makers of such pet food faves as California Natural, Evo, Innova and more. They will be giving out food samples and answering any questions you might have.

Gold Paw fleeces and rain jackets have arrived! We are super excited to bring the line into our shop — they come in a wide range of sizes from teeny tiny to huge, all in assorted colors and patterns. What’s more? They are based right here in Portland!
And for our feline friends, we’ve added a bunch of new interactive toys to keep them frisky! Not to mention a ton of collars to keep them fashionable.
OK. You know that scene in Labyrinth, with the Bog of Eternal Stench? (here’s a visual clue)
So if you haven’t seen Labyrinth (shame on you!), all you need to know is that the Bog of Eternal Stench is pretty much the stinkiest place ever. So stinky, in fact, that if you so much as step foot in the bog, you’ll be doomed to reek of foulness for eternity.
Why, dear For Paws customers, am I bringing up the Bog of Eternal Stench? (Besides, of course, the fact that we will take any opportunity to talk about Labyrinth…)
Allow me to explain. Today the FedEx man brought me a box. This box was, I believe, the exact opposite of the Bog of Eternal Stench. The Box of Eternal Olfactory Delights? Possibly. For your sniffing pleasure and mine, today we got a new line of grooming products from a company called Aroma Paws. They are a chemical free, all natural line of grooming products for dogs, and their products smell soooo good. Honeysuckle, jasmine & sweet violet. Vanilla bean, lemongrass, pink grapefruit & rose. Mmmm. We have shampoo, deodorizing coat spray, vegan fur conditioner, odor neutralizing room sprays and candles, and more- all in tons of amazing scents.
Come get a whiff.

Thanks so so much to all of our awesome customers for supporting us in our first year! It’s been so much fun getting to know our neighborhood friends; human, canine and feline alike. We opened at a crazy time, but thanks to you guys, we’ve made it to the big zero one!

For Paws is a brand new pet supply store at 3029 SE Division St (right next to the very delicious Detour Cafe)! We carry lots of healthy natural dog and cat food, tons of toys, treats, grooming supplies, gifts, collars, leashes,beds, carriers, cat litter and pretty much everything else you could ever need for your best friend. We are currently open 7 days a week. Monday-Friday 10-7, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 10-5. Come have breakfast at the Detour (Faye likes the original with bacon, Alessandra likes the all fired up) and bring your dog, since they have a great dog friendly patio. Then come by and get everything Colonel Whiskers and Sergeant Slobber could ever need or want!
